This trek to Mount Rinjani is recommended for customers who have a very limited time but want to explore Rinjani mountain. Segara Anak crater lake is the main point of interest to be discovered. Even though the trek is only up to the lake, it is still very incredible since you will have a wonderful experience in the rain forest with various kinds of trees and wild animals. Even if you are lucky you will see many birds and different sorts of butterflies.
Trekking itinerary :
D1 : Hotel/airport – Senaru – Post II (B,L,D)
The guide meets you at the hotel at 06.00 AM or at Lombok International airport if you arrive early in the morning. Then drive down to Senaru for registration at Rinjani Information Center (RIC) and arrange National Park entry tickets. Afterwards our team prepares you breakfast at Senaru. Furthermore, we will give you a short brief about the route of the trek to Mount Rinjani details, local culture, traditions and what you might see during the trek. In addition, the team also explains rubbish management and safety procedures.
The 2 hours trek to Mount Rinjani starts from Senaru village with the gentle ascent walking through open grassland used as cattle grazing by local people. After that we have lunch at post 2. Then continue another 3 hours of wonderful trek to post 3. We take a rest for half an hour to enjoy the beautiful views of Mount Rinjani. Then go on walking to Pelawangan Senaru to stay overnight. The guide and team serve you lunch en route and dinner in a tent.
D2 : Pelawangan Senaru – Lake – Hotel/airport (B,L)
At 03:00 AM we will start walking down to Segara Anak lake 2,000 meters above sea level. In the middle of the crater you will see Mount Baru Jari. It is a land surface in the lake and an active volcano. The last dramatic eruption was in 1994. In addition, we will have a chance to take a shower in a natural hot spring. Afterwards the cook team prepares your breakfast by the lake. Furthermore, we continue the trek and enjoy the beautiful panorama around the trail. We will provide you with lunch en route. Afterwards we trek up to Pelawangan Senaru. Then proceed the trek to Senaru village as the ending point of your trek to Mount Rinjani program. Finally we drive you back to the hotel or to the airport if you catch a late afternoon flight.
