Tour Komodo from Lombok and trekking Mount. Tambora itinerary
Day 1. Arrival (D)
Meeting service at Lombok International airport then drive down to Sukarara weaving village to see Sasak ladies weave Lombok traditional SARONG which is called SONGKET using a very simple hand loom. Afterwards we continue driving to Banyumulek pottery village. In this village the visitors get a chance to practice making Lombok pottery. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After having lunch we go to Senggigi for hotel accommodation. You may enjoy your leisure time at Senggigi Beach.
Day 2. Senggigi – Sumbawa Besar (B,L,D)
Breakfast is served at the hotel, then set out on an amazing Tour Komodo from Lombok and trekking Mount Tambora. We will visit Lingsar unique temple where Moslem Wetu Telu, Hindu, and Buddhist worship together and Narmada Summer Palace which is known as a replica form of Rinjani volcano. Then proceed to the trip to central Lombok to explore the wonders of Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu waterfall. Afterwards, drive down to Kayangan harbor to cross Alas strait with a public ferry to Poto Tano harbor of Sumbawa Island. Lunch will be served en route. As soon as we reach the harbor we continue driving to Sumbawa Besar town for accommodation. Enjoy your dinner and a wonderful night at the hotel.
Day 3. Sumbawa Besar – Pancasila village (B,L,D)
After having breakfast at the hotel we visit DALAM LOKA, the palace built in 1835 by Sultan Kaharuddin I who ruled the Sultanate of Sumbawa. Afterwards we enjoy a spectacular trip to Pancasila village, a small village located under the foothills of Mount Tambora. Along the way you will see the mountainous scenery which dominates the surface of the land. Lunch is served en route. We will stay overnight at a homestay belonging to the villager. During the day you have a chance to mingle with the villagers. After having dinner you are suggested to sleep earlier in order to prepare tomorrow’s trekking Mount Tambora adventure program.
Day 4. Trekking Mount Tambora (B,L,D)
After having an early breakfast we prepare the backpack and other trekking equipment then go down to Mount Tambora National Park for registration. We begin trekking Mount Tambora by riding a motor taxi called OJEK from the village to the Forest Gate which takes about 30 minutes. Then set out on a spectacular 40 minutes trek to Post I. After taking a rest we continue walking up to Post II which takes approximately 2 hours. Lunch, coffee, and tea break will be provided at Post II. After watching a wonderful view we proceed with 2,5 hours trek to Post III where our cook provides with you a tasteful dinner. Furthermore, we enjoy an amazing 2 hours night trek to post V where our team prepares you a tent to stay overnight.
Day 5. Mount Tambora – Pancasila Village (B,L,D)
Early breakfast will be served at 03 : 00. At 03 : 30 we start climbing up the crater which now becomes the summit of the mountain after a very tremendous eruption in 1815. It takes about 3 hours. We will reach the summit before sunrise. After enjoying Sunrise we walk Down to Post V for lunch. After having lunch we Leave Post V down to Post III for a coffee and tea break. Furthermore, we continue an other 2,5 hours walking down to Post II. After taking a few minutes rest we proceed the trek down to Post I. From Post I we need to walk down around 30 minutes to enjoy an amazing natural scenery before reaching the Forest Gate where the motor taxi picks and rides us back to Pancasila village. Dinner and stay overnight at the village.
Day 6. Pancasila Village – Sape harbor – Labuhan Bajo (B,L,D)
Enjoy your early breakfast at homestay. Afterwards, we continue our spectacular Tour Komodo from Lombok and trekking Mount Tambora with a 4 hours drive to Sape harbor to catch a 7 hours public ferry to Labuan Bajo. Upon arrival at the harbor our Komodo tour guide meets and takes you to the local restaurant for dinner. After having dinner check in at the hotel.
Day 7. Hotel – Kelor island – Manjarite beach – Kalong island (B,L,D)
Tour Komodo from Lombok proceeds soon after having breakfast at the hotel. Take a short drive to Labuhan Bajo harbor to catch a private AC boat to Kelor island. We will experience a pleasant hike till the top of Kelor hill to witness the magnificent scenery of other islands surrounding it. If you adore exploring underwater life, Manjarite beach is a right and favorable place. Just put on your mask and pin, then jump into the sea you will immediately discover colorful coral reefs, hundreds of species of fish, and colorful sea stars. If you are lucky you will get a chance to look at a green turtle. Lunch will be Breakfast at the hotel then provided on board. By early afternoon the boat takes you to Kalong island. We anchor the boat on the beach behind the rock edge near a huge tree where we see the bats flying out of the nests at twilight time. Enjoy the dinner and spectacular night on board.
Day 8. Kalong – Padar – Pink beach – Komodo – Airport (B,L)
Today is our last day Tour Komodo from Lombok and trekking Mount Tambora. Most Komodo neighbouring islands are picturesque hilly islands. We sail to Padar island, the third big island in the resort after Komodo and Rinca island. We eat a snack on board as we will climb up the top of Padar hill. It is a breathtaking place to take a photograph and enjoy a fantastic view around the island. After exploring the island we return to the boat for breakfast. The boat goes further to Pink beach for marine activities. The turning point of Tour Komodo from Lombok and trekking Mount Tambora is hiking around the island to explore the rare Komodo dragon lizards, Varanus Komodoensis which can only be found in Komodo National Park. The rangers will guide us during the trek. We will also discover wild buffaloes, deers, and other wild animals. After the exploration we walk back to the pier and immediately embark the boat to sail back to Labuan Bajo for airport transfer.
